520.2220b Sulfadimethoxine tablets and boluses. Specifications: No specifications are included in the CFR for this product. Conditions of use: Dogs Amount: 12.5 to 25 milligrams per pound body weight. Indications: Treatment of sulfadimethoxine-susceptible bacterial infections. Limitations: Administer 25 milligrams per pound body weight for first day followed by 12.5 milligrams per pound body weight per day until the animal is free of symptoms for 48 hours, for use only by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Cats Amount: 12.5 to 25 milligrams per pound body weight. Indications: Treatment of sulfadimethoxine-susceptible bacterial infections. Limitations: Administer 25 milligrams per pound body weight for first day followed by 12.5 milligrams per pound body weight per day until the animal is free of symptoms for 48 hours, for use only by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. |

Tolerances are established for residues of sulfadimethoxine in edible products of animals as follows: a. Chickens, turkeys, cattle, ducks, salmonids, catfish and chukar partridges: 0.1 part per million (negligible residue) in uncooked edible tissues b. Milk: 0.01 part per million (negligible residue). |
