Dosage Amount, Indications & Limitations |
558.680 Zoalene. Specifications: Type A medicated article containing 25 percent zoalene. Conditions of use: Turkeys Amount: 113.5-170.3 (0.0125 percent to 0.01875 percent) grams zoalene per ton of feed in combination with 4-50 grams bacitracin methylene disalicylate per ton of feed. Indications: For the prevention and control of coccidiosis, and increase rate of weight gain and improved feed efficiency. Limitations: For turkeys grown for meat purposes only. Not to be fed to laying birds. Feed continuously as sole ration until 14 to 16 weeks of age. Replacement chickens: Amount: 36.3-113.5 (0.004-0.0125%) grams zoalene per ton of feed in combination with 50 grams bacitracin methylene disalicylate per ton . Indications: Development of immunity to coccidiosis; aid in prevention of necrotic caused or complicated by Clostridium species or other organisms suspectable to bacitracin. Limitations: Feed continuously as sole ration; grower ration not to be fed to birds over 14 weeks of age. Amount: 36.3-113.5 (0.004-0.0125%) gram zoalene per ton of feed in combination with 100-200 grams bacitracin methylene disalicylate per ton of feed. Indications: Development of immunity to coccidiosis; aid in prevention of necrotic caused or complicated by Clostridium species or other organisms suspectable to bacitracin. Limitations: Feed continuously as sole ration. To control necrotic enteritis, start medication at the first sign of disease; vary bacitracin dosage based on the severity infection; administer continuously for 5 to 7 days or as long as clinical signs persist; then reduce bacitracin levels to prevention level (50 grams per ton). Broiler chickens: Amount: 36.3-113.5 (0.004-0.0125%) gram zoalene per ton of feed in combination with 50 grams bacitracin methylene disalicylate per ton of feed. Indications: Development of immunity to coccidiosis; aid in prevention of necrotic caused or complicated by Clostridium species or other organisms suspectable to bacitracin. The tolerance for residues of bacitracin from zinc bacitracin or bacitracin methylene disalicylate in uncooked edible tissues of cattle, swine, chickens, turkeys, pheasants, and quail, and in milk and eggs is 0.5 part per million Tolerances are established for residues of zoalene (3,5-dinitro-o- toluamide) and its metabolite 3-amino-5-nitro-o-toluamide in food as follows: a. Chickens (edible tissues): (1) 6 parts per million in uncooked liver and kidney. (2) 3 parts per million in uncooked muscle tissue. (3) 2 parts per million in uncooked fat. b. Turkeys (edible tissues): 3 parts per million in uncooked muscle tissue and liver. |
