Dosage Amount, Indications & Limitations |
558.195 Decoquinate Specifications: Type A medicated article containing 6 percent decoquinate may be used to make dry or liquid Type B cattle feeds. Conditions of use: Beef cattle fed in confinement for slaughter. Amount: Decoquinate 13.6 to 27.2 grams per ton; monensin 5 to 30 grams per ton. Indications: For prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and E. zuernii, and improved feed efficiency. Limitations: Feed only to cattle fed in confinement for slaughter. Feed continuously as sole ration to provide 22.7 milligrams of decoquinate per 100 pounds body weight per day and 50 to 360 milligrams monensin per head per day. Feed at least 28 days during period of exposure to coccidiosis or when it is likely to be a hazard. Do not feed to animals producing milk for food. Bentonite should not be used in decoquinate feeds. |

A tolerance of 0.10 part per million (ppm) in cattle liver, 0.05 ppm in muscle, kidney, and fate. A tolerance of 0.05 ppm in goats edible tissue.
A tolerance for residue of monensin in chickens, turkeys and quail is not needed. A tolerance for residues of monensin in milk is not needed.
Tolerances for residues of decoquinate in food are established in uncooked edible tissues of chickens, cattle, and goats at 2 parts per million in tissues other than skeletal muscle, and 1 part per million in skeletal muscle. |
