558.195 Decoquinate. Specifications: Type A medicated article containing 6 percent decoquinate. Type A medicated articles containing 6 percent decoquinate may be used to manufacture dry or liquid Type B cattle (including veal calf), sheep, and goat feeds. Conditions of use: Chickens (broilers) Amount: 27.2 grams per ton of feed. Indications: For the prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. mivati, E. acervulina, E. maxima and E. brunetti. Limitations: Do not feed to laying chickens. Bentonite should not be used in decoquinate feeds. Cattle Amount: 27.2 grams per ton of feed. Indications: For the prevention of coccidiosis in ruminating and non-ruminating calves and cattle caused by Eimeria bovis and E. zurnii Limitations: Feed Type C feed or milk replacer at a rate to provide 22.7 milligrams per 100 pounds of body weight (0.5 milligrams per kilgram) per day. Feed at least 28 days during periods of exposure to coccidiosis or when it is likely to be a hazard. Do not feed to cows producing milk for food. Bentonite should not be used in decoquinate feeds. Goats (young) Amount: 13.6 grams per ton of feed. Indications: For the prevention of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria christenseni and E. ninakohlyakimovae Limitations: Feed Type C feed or milk replacer at a rate to provide 22.7 milligrams per 100 pounds of body weight per day (0.5 milligrams per kilogram).
