520.1846 Polyoxyethylene (23) lauryl ether blocks. Specifications: Each molasses-based block contains 2.2 percent polyoxyethylene (23) lauryl ether. Conditions of use: Cattle (beef and nonlactating dairy) Amount: 2 grams of polyoxyethylene (23) lauryl ether per 100 kilograms of body weight per day (1 pound of block per 500 kilogram (1,100 pound) animal per day). Indications: For reduction of the incidence of bloat (alfalfa and clover) in pastured cattle. Limitations: Administer free-choice to beef cattle and nonlactating dairy cattle only. Initially, provide one block per five head of cattle. Start treatment 10 to 14 days before exposure to bloat-producing pastures. Do not allow cattle access to other sources of salt while being fed this product. Do not feed this product to animals without adequate forage/roughage consumption. |
