522.1367 Meloxicam. Specifications: Each milliliter of solution contains 5.0 milligrams (mg) meloxicam. Conditions of use: Dogs Amount: Administer 0.09 mg per pound (0.2 milligram per kilogram) body weight by intravenous or subcutaneous injection on the first day of treatment. For treatment after day 1, administer meloxicam suspension orally at 0.1 milligram per kilogram) body weight once daily. Indications: For the control of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. Limitations: Federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian. Cats Amount: Administer 0.14 milligram per pound (0.2 milligram per kilogram) body weight as a single, one-time subcutaneous injection. Indications: For the control of postoperative pain and inflammation associated with orthopedic surgery, ovariohysterectomy, and castration when administered prior to surgery.
