520.2345d Tetracycline hydrochloride soluble powder. Specifications: Each gram of powder contains not less than 15 milligrams of tetracycline as tetracycline hydrochloride. Conditions of use: Cattle (calves) Amount: 10 milligrams per pound of body weight per day in divided doses in drinking water. Indications: Control and treatment of bacterial enteritis (scours) caused by Escherichia coli and bacterial pneumonia (shipping fever complex) associated with Pasteurella species, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (Hemophilus species), and Klebsiella species, susceptible to tetracycline. Limitations: Administer for 3 to 5 days. Prepare a fresh solution daily. Use as sole source of tetracycline. A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal. Swine Amount: 10 milligrams per pound of body weight per day in divided doses. Indications: Control and treatment of bacterial enteritis (scours) caused by E. coli and bacterial pneumonia associated with Pasteurella species, A. pleuropneumoniae (Hemophilus species), and Klebsiella species, susceptible to tetracycline. Limitations: Administer for 3 to 5 days. Prepare a fresh solution daily. Use as sole source of tetracycline. Tolerances are established for the sum of residues of the tetracyclines including chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, and tetracycline, in tissues of calves, swine, sheep, chickens, and turkeys, as follows: a. 2 parts per million (ppm) in muscle. b. 6 ppm in liver. c. 12 ppm in fat and kidney. |
