520.2158a Streptomycin sulfate oral solution. Specifications: Solution containing 25 percent streptomycin sulfate. Conditions of use: Cattle (calves) Amount: 0.5 to 1.5 grams per gallon of drinking water. Indications: Treatment of bacterial diarrhea (scours) of calves. Limitations: Administer for not more than 5 days. Prepare fresh solution daily. Withdraw 2 days before slaughter. As sole source of streptomycin. Chickens Amount: 0.5 to 1.5 grams per gallon of drinking water. Indications: Treatment of chronic respiratory disease (air-sac infection); maintenance of weight gains during periods of stress; treatment of bluecomb (nonspecific infectious enteritis). Limitations: Administer for not more than 5 days. Not for use in laying chickens. Prepare fresh solution daily. Withdraw 4 days before slaughter. As sole source of streptomycin.
